VP RACING FUELS NAMED OFFICIAL FUEL OF CARS TOUR, TITLE SPONSOR OF SUPER LATE MODEL DIVISION

SAN ANTONIO, TX (January 18, 2016) Officials with the Championship Auto Racing Series (CARS) Tour today announced VP Racing Fuels will continue as the series’ “Official Fuel” through the 2018 season. Under the agreement, VP’s CRT™, a proprietary race fuel blend for exclusive use by all CARS competitors, has been designated as Spec Fuel for the series. In addition to being named the official fuel of the tour, VP Racing Fuels will be the title sponsor of the Super Late Model division. The CARS Super Late Model Tour fueled by VP Racing Fuels, along with the CARS Late Model Stock Car division, takes the green flag on the 2016 season beginning April 2nd.

“VP Racing Fuels has supported our endeavors dating back to the Pro Cup Series day and has never wavered with that support. To be able to announce a long term partnership with them says a lot about their commitment to our series and our competitors going forward,” said Jack McNelly, owner of CARS Tour. “A solid marketing partner like VP Racing Fuels as our Super Late Model division sponsor allows the series to grow in a direction we desire; just as VP wants to grow within the short track pavement market along with us.”

“We’re very pleased to continue our partnership with the CARS Tour,” said Chris Wall, VP’s Chief Marketing Officer. “The CARS Tour provides a great proving ground for younger racers and we appreciate the opportunity to provide them and their veteran counterparts with a top quality fuel like CRT. We look forward to working with Jack and his team to help grow the series for years to come.”

For each event, trackside fuel service will be provided by VP or its designated distributor. Questions regarding trackside service or fuel orders can be directed to VP-South at 706-335-3355 or the CARS Tour office at 704-662-9212. Technical questions about CRT or other VP fuels can be referred to VP’s Tech Support staff at ovaltracktech@vpracingfuels.com or 302.521.1767.

About CARS Racing Tour
Formed in the fall of 2014 by owner Jack McNelly, the CARS Tour was built out of the remnants of the Pro Cup Series. The CARS sanctioning body, continuing a desire to create a viable option for quality pavement racing throughout the Carolinas and beyond, formed the duel division CARS Tour. Featuring both Super Late Models and Late Model Stock Cars competing on the same night at the same track, the CARS Tour is the first series of its kind to host two premier short track divisions under the same banner as part of a full time touring series. More information about the CARS Tour is available at carsracingtour.com.

LIST OF VP RETAIL PARTNERS GROWS BY THREE

Wuest’s, Inc. Plants Flag in VP’s Backyard

VP’s newest retail branding partners include St. Charles, Illinois-based Parent Petroleum and Fiona, Texas-based Kendrick Oil, along with Wuest’s, Inc., based just outside VP’s home market of San Antonio, Texas.

Parent Petroleum has converted the first VP-branded station in the Chicago market with more to come.  According to Mark Potaczek, Vice President of Fuels Marketing & Development for Parent, the VP brand provides the most unique offering in their market with many benefits previously available only through major refiners.  “VP’s brand image is economical, attractive and communicates a theme of quality and reliability, which is consistent with its reputation in the specialty fuels, additives, and racing community.  Their credit card fees are among the lowest in the industry and their marketing support programs are very useful and easy to administer.”

Kendrick Oil will focus on growing the VP brand in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado and Louisiana.  “VP gives Kendrick Oil and our dealers the flexibility to have a nationally recognized brand while simultaneously buying fuel from the lowest cost supplier every time,” said Neal McCarty, Branded Liaison and Business Development for Kendrick Oil.  “This allows our dealers to price aggressively in their market and have a strong brand presence to drive business, a great solution for those dealers looking for a strong brand, low processing rates and low cost fuel.”

Two of the Pic-n-Pac stores owned by Wuest’s, Inc. have been converted to VP and Phil Wuest, Director of Operations, looks forward to converting more in the greater San Antonio area.  Wuest liked what he saw in VP’s “branded unbranded” program.  “VP has the look of a major brand but offers the chance to buy unbranded supply to compete more effectively with grocery chains, super chains and major brands.  We also expect substantial savings from VP’s low credit card processing fees and elimination of monthly network fees, plus we’ll generate new revenue streams from VP’s race fuels, additives and apparel.  All these products appeal to race fans and gearheads who are drawn to VP because of its reputation in racing.”

“VP’s program gives us more control over our business and our facilities, without anyone dictating or assessing penalties for noncompliance.  It was also important to us to have an appealing brand to offer as a jobber to other retailers,” Wuest added.
VP welcomes its new partners and looks forward to growing our businesses together.  For more information about VP’s retail branding program, visit VPRacingFuels.com/Branding or contact:

VP GAINS NATIONAL ATTENTION AS A “CHAIN TO WATCH”

The momentum of VP Racing Fuels’ retail branding program continues unabated with the latest boost provided by Convenience Store Decisions magazine, which named VP a “Chain to Watch” in its August issue.   The publication annually features retail chains that show solid growth potential through differentiation and innovation.

In an article titled “VP Racing Fuels Speeds Forward,” the editor focuses on the strategy by which VP Racing Fuels offers smaller chains a way to compete with major regional players. Key features of VP’s branded program are described as “a recognizable brand with a strong following among racing fans, a branded racing fuel product line and a way to save on costs.”
The article explains how VP’s program helps retailers maximize fuel margins, provides interchange relief with low credit card swipe fees and offers new revenue streams from an array of VP-branded products ranging from performance chemicals to apparel. Also called out is the simplicity and flexibility of VP’s imaging program, in addition to the financing assistance available through VP’s preferred lender, Allied Brand Capital (formerly Allied Brand Services).
“It’s gratifying to achieve this recognition from one of the most prominent publications serving the c-store industry,” said Alan Cerwick.  “It’s a testament to the strength of our brand, the uniqueness and credibility of our retail branding concept, and the ability of our program to deliver the highest competitive advantage for retailers confronting a changing industry.”
