San Antonio, TX (February 13, 2025) – VP Racing Fuels, Inc., The World Leader in Fuel Technology®, congratulates Kyle Chaney, Terry Madden, and the Can-Am® racing team for becoming the first UTV to win the coveted Race of Kings 4400 class race at the 2025 OPTIMA® King of the Hammers, presented by Ford Performance®, in Johnson Valley, CA.
As the Official Fuel of the King of the Hammers, the VP Racing team showcased its dominance across nearly every major class throughout the three weeks of off-road racing in Hammertown. The event kicked off with a strong start as Trystan Hart piloted his VP-fueled KTM to victory in the prestigious King of the Motos race. The momentum carried into the following week’s Desert Challenge races, where VP-powered vehicles claimed pole positions and secured wins in nearly every class. From rising stars like Camren Sorenson and Mika Block in the youth divisions to Brock Heger’s commanding overall victory in Limited and Christopher Polvoorde’s triumph in Unlimited, VP Racing’s presence was felt across the board.
As competition intensified in the third week’s rock races, VP athletes continued their winning ways. Ronnie Anderson (UTV) and Paul Wolff (4400) delivered blistering performances in qualifying, earning front-row starting positions. The excitement culminated in a dominant victory from Brock Heger, who secured the UTV Hammers Championship and extended his unprecedented win streak. With a relentless drive for excellence, VP Racing once again proved its reputation as the fuel of champions.
“King of the Hammers is unbelievably tough on vehicles, drivers, and equipment, and each lap gets harder and harder,” said Mike Emerson, VP Racing’s Western Regional Manager. “For our VP Racing team to be dominating every class—from the kids to the pros—is a testament to the power and performance of VP Racing fuels, engine oils, gear oils, coolants, and every other fluid these guys are putting to the ultimate test.”
With the final and toughest race left—the Race of Kings—VP Racing once again started on pole position with Paul Wolff, but the treacherous course played no favorites this year. Lap after grueling lap, the leaders changed positions, but one thing remained constant: a VP Racing team was always in the lead. Heading into the most challenging final lap, Kyle Chaney and co-driver Terry Madden emerged as the leaders and raced into Hammertown virtually drama-free in their Can-Am 4400-prepped UTV, becoming the first-ever UTV to claim the title of King of the Hammers.
“What Kyle and Terry just did put the entire off-road world on notice. For the first time ever, a UTV has beaten the world’s best purpose-built 4400 cars,” said Mike Emerson. “It’s a true testament to how far powersport vehicles have come in such a short time and our ability to create products that perform at the highest level while protecting critical components. If anyone questions our fuels or lubes, all you have to do is look at the results from an event like this. The proof is in the results—we literally win every race.”
