VP X98 is a race-grade ethanol fuel blended to a consistent specification every batch. It delivers a MON greater than 120, a RON of 103, and 34.73% oxygen content, with a stoichiometric air/fuel ratio of 8.98. The higher oxygen content and lower A/F ratio compared to X85 make X98 particularly well suited for boosted and forced induction competition engines where additional oxygen in the charge is an advantage.

Like all VP ethanol fuels, X98 is blended to a fixed specification drum to drum, unlike pump E85 which varies from 51% to 83% ethanol by season and region. It is unleaded and designed for E85-compatible fuel systems.
