Race History

For 45 years, VP Racing Fuels has used superior fuel formulation science to produce some of the most trusted racing fuels on the planet. Our founder Steve Burns was a racer who believed that making more power began with stable, high-quality race fuel. We fuel racer winners in over 60 series around the world and all forms of racing – from RC hobby to Nitro funny cars. From our humble beginnings in San Antonio, Texas to the present day, we still formulate and manufacture our race fuels in the USA. We buy raw fuel stocks, formulate, blend and package our own race fuels. We also formulate and manufacture many of our automotive performance additives and lubricants in the USA to ensure that we control the quality from raw materials to finished product. That’s why champions choose VP Racing Fuels.

Race Products

We apply our chemical formulation expertise to blend over 80 types of conventional, ethanol, methanol, and nitro race fuels to support motorcycle, UTV, truck, automobile, and boat racing around the world. Beyond race fuel, we also formulate a full line of race lubricants, coolants and even track preparation products for asphalt and dirt track racing.

Our race lubricants include a complete line of engine oils including full-synthetic, non-synthetic Nitro, plus assembly lube and break-in oils. We also offer gear oil in multiple weights.

Our race coolant is a glycol-free and formulated for high-compression, high-heat racing engines. It contains a specialized blend of wetting agents that dramatically improve the coolant’s ability to transfer heat away from high temperature cylinder heads so that engines are more reliable and make more power. Engine temperatures are reduced by up to 100 degrees F compared to conventional glycol-based coolant.

Our track preparation products include traction compound and starting line resin. Both products work together to ensure race tracks deliver optimum performance in any weather conditions. Our top performing traction compound in LC7, which is effective across the widest range of temperatures of any traction compound on the market. It delivers optimum performance with track temperatures from 30 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit.
